Dansoman is northeast of Jonkobri, north of Tunga and northwest of Damba in the Greater Accra Region. Dansoman is a town that was established by the late Nii Kojo Danso I in 1960. With the derived name: "Danso" and "Man" meaning Town. Dansoman has been regarded as the single largest planned urban settlement of the ECOWAS sub-region being one of the largets estate in West Africa.
Dansoman is surrounded with small towns like Jonkobri, Tunga, Damba,Sakaman, South Ordokor, Pambros Salt Ponds and New Russia.
Some landmarks in dansoman are the Sakumon Lagoon 3km east of Dansoman, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital 5km east, Kawli Lagoon 6km east, Accra Lighthouse 7km east, James Fort 7km east and the Ghana Technology University College 7km northeast.
